Everybody wants to know where I got my idea for my book, SUNG TO DEATH. Well, it happened like this. After batting about numerous ideas inside my head, I said "To heck with it," reached in and snatched out the first plot that came to mind.Sung To Death takes place in Florida. The protagonist, Callie Sullivan, should have been a concert pianist, but life has gotten in her way. Not only has her father handed her the reins to the family business, Sensuous, a factory for adult sex toys, her sister is pregnant and can no longer handle waiting tables at the club she and her husband run on Key Largo. So Callie finds herself tramping back and forth between Miami and the gulf working the two jobs she has unhappily inherited.
The Hard Bottom, Callie's sister and brother-in-law's club, hosts a number of wannabe singers who perform on karaoke night. When one is murdered with a sex toy from Callie's bag of prototypes, she becomes the prime suspect in the eyes of Key Largo Detective, Ted Hunter. In self-defense, Callie sets out to track down the real killer and soon finds herself on the killer's list...right at the top.
